We left our hotel before 5 AM and flew via small plane to Bocas del Toro on the Carribean. By taking the early flight, we will get to see more. Our hotel rooms were ready, and we were given two hours to relax and prepare to go for a boat ride. It was perfect weather for our guide to take the twelve of us for a motor boat ride to Starfish Beach.
A lot of families were swimming and wading at this beautiful sandy beach. The sand tickled my feet as I waded in this 68 degree water. I enjoyed taking pictures and even getting some smiles from children when my peepers talked with them.
We all got back in the boat and started motoring to a restaurant for lunch. On the way we came upon an overturned boat. Crew members were diving for cameras and other items that had been lost. Later we found out that all thirteen school teachers aboard had been rescued. The captain had been drunk.
We had sea bass, fried plantain, and rice for a delicious lunch. Then we enjoyed the return boat ride to our hotel. Every room at Playa Tortuga Hotel has a view of the water. Palm trees, outdoor pools, and beach chairs are inviting guests to enjoy this beautiful scenery.
People were drinking coconut milk out of whole coconuts. Our guide said it was good for high blood pressure, diabetes, and just tasted good!
